This reel is great. I have fished with the Guru a fair bit and this real is a slight upgrade on look and fell. No parts of the line get caught on this reel besides the handle. Very happy with the purchase.

Great reel out of the box

I haven't used it much yet, but if it's anything like my Konic II I've had now for about 12 years (of VERY, VERY heavy use) with 0 problems, I'll be a happy camper.

The least impressive Lamson reel I've owned.

Being an idaho native, I always try to support local companies. This was the fifth Samson reel I've owned. I loved it's lightweight ans drag, BUT I was using 5 wt. line on 5 wt. reel and the line would get caught in between the frame and spool when cast and reeling. After it ruining my first line, I went to a 6 wt. - same issue. I called the retailer, retutned it, and upgraded to a Litespeed, which has become my second favorite reel!

A functional amazing work of Art and Design

I fell in love with Lamson reels with my First Liquid Reel. The Drag is so fluid and amazing. After landing over a dozen Big Browns 27" to 31" on light tippets I realized just how perfect the Lamson Drag system are. I am a retired Fishing Guide and have used many Fly Reels. Lamson has the best Drag in the Industry. So I started to change out my gear to use all Lamson. I ordered another Liquid triple and that was when I saw the Speedster in Steve Periwinkle I knew the Drag was Flawless and I wanted to get a fully machined reel. To my amazement the machine work is Flawless, the reel is extremely light. And let's face it the color is off the hook!!!!
The Price point in my opinion is low for what you get. What A value for such a quality work of precise Machine work and Art.
I have landed a new personal best Citation Brown of 30 1/4" on this reel and as stated the Drag is Flawless!!!!! Not to mention the Reel is just Purdy!!!! I will be adding more Lamson Reels for sure. I rate the Reel as a 10 Star not 5 on Form, Function and Quality!!!!
